England suffered a second euros final loss last night following a defeat to Spain. National football in England has been so much more hopeful since Southgate era started meaning that getting to play in finals has been increased by 200 percent, but actually winning them needs a lot more work.
Playing defensive football is ok if you are in the lead but England lack creativity right now to go forward.
If Southgate does go then there are a few different people that we could end up with as a manager to take England to the next World Cup and then our home Euros in 2028. Who is going to be the suitable person to push them on to playing more attacking style?
Will it be Jurgen Klopp, Eddie Howe, Graham Potter or someone totally different that manages to be the link that we don’t seem to have in the mix?
England were on the side of easy draws against teams in the Euros this time and yet again couldn’t manage to find the right way through Spain’s defence.
